Nature Studies

Since getting back from Teach Them Diligently I’ve really been working hard on creating a natural learning environment and not one that’s forced. I find the best place for that is outdoors.

I went by Sandi Queen’s Charlotte Mason booth and picked up a great & simple nature studies book to finish out the spring with the boys.

The first story was about mud and worms and my boys loved going on a worm hunt.

We found 5 worms and put them in our nature box to study.

We also talked about birds and Phoenix wanted to draw his favorite bird. I thought he did a wonderful job with his drawing. We had fun documenting our nature studies that day.

What do your kids enjoy exploring outside? Any creepy crawly’s that you won’t let them have in the house?
